Before Epal
My name is Rose, I’m 20 years old, and I was born in America. I went to high school in South Carolina & chose not to go to college because at the time my mom had a stroke and I needed to get a job promptly to help her pay medical bills. I’ve always put others before myself so I didn’t really get to express myself or understand myself until I got older, but one thing I knew for sure was that I love video games! I’ve been playing on PC – console since I was 11. WII – PS2 – PS3 – PS4 – PC, You name it, I loved it!
I worked a lot of retail jobs, jumping from one to another, until I finally landed a position as a medical coder. My mom worked as a medical coder for most of her life. Learning from her, along with taking a training course, really helped me build my career. At 18, I decided to move out and get my own place to ease my mom’s burden, and we still keep in touch every single day. My passion for video games is what first sparked my curiosity about Epal.

E-pal has given me a place like no other, I’ve met good long term friends & memories I won’t forget. When I started e-pal I was so scared but the community was so welcoming and accepted me with open arms. It filled me with overwhelming joy that I could make connections and so much more. I hosted rooms and met so many beautiful faces. I felt like I could be myself, I could finally let go and show myself & others to me. It was so refreshing to hear how I could help others while helping myself. E-pal gave me a space to spread my wings and soar.

While being on Epal, I’ve improved my communication skills and made many valuable long-term friends. Since starting e-pal, I’ve been able to take in some strays and help them, as of now I am sheltering a stray dog that I named Chopper 1 that got hit.
This journey has also inspired me to pursue my passions further, including photography, baking, cooking, and self-care. I will keep meeting new people, building connections, and offering help to those around me, as I strive to support and guide others along the way.
